Salsa: AI Recipe Guide is provided by Ashton McHardy. Contact ashton.mchardy@gmail.com for help, complaints or questions. The app licence is governed by Apple's standard end-user licence agreement. These service terms explain Salsa's features and subscriptions; they do not remove mandatory consumer rights.

Your subscription

Salsa offers monthly and annual auto-renewing subscriptions through Apple's in-app purchases. The price, currency and billing period shown by the App Store at checkout apply to your purchase. Monthly and annual plans provide the same features. The annual plan includes a three-day introductory free trial for customers Apple determines are eligible; the monthly plan has no free trial. An existing or previous subscription can affect eligibility.

After an eligible trial, the annual renewal price shown at checkout is charged unless you cancel in time. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled. To avoid renewal after a free trial, Apple advises cancelling at least 24 hours before it ends. Manage cancellation in Salsa's Settings → Manage subscription, or in your Apple account. See Apple's cancellation instructions. Refund requests are handled through Apple's refund service, subject to Apple's process and your statutory rights.

Deleting the app, deleting recipes, signing out or deleting a Salsa account does not cancel the Apple subscription. Restore Purchases checks an existing Apple entitlement; it does not create a second trial.

Recipe allowance and cooking assistance

Each subscription includes 100 successful recipe imports per UTC calendar month. Imports being processed reserve a slot; failed or cancelled imports release it. Deleting a successfully imported recipe does not refund that month's slot. Check usage and the reset date in Settings → Monthly allowance.

Private cover-photo backup has a separate allowance of 100 new backup reservations per account per UTC calendar month. This does not reduce your recipe-import allowance. Retrying the same reserved photo in the same month uses the same slot, and replacing an existing cloud cover does not use a new slot. Covers saved directly by Salsa's import service do not use this private-backup allowance. A reserved slot is not refunded after an upload times out, because the server may already have received it; an unused reservation needs a new month's slot if retried after the monthly reset. At the limit, a new private cover stays on your iPhone pending backup, while other recipe edits can continue syncing.

The cooking assistant is for recipes, cooking questions and techniques. It has no ordinary daily message allowance, but automated abuse, excessive concurrent requests, unsafe requests and unrelated conversation may be limited or refused. Imports and AI functions require an internet connection and may be delayed or unavailable. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service.

Cooking safely

Salsa organises recipes and provides guidance, not a guarantee of accuracy, food safety, nutrition or allergen suitability. AI can omit or misread details even after source checking. Check important quantities, temperatures, allergens and cooking instructions against the original. Use appropriate food-handling practices and check food is cooked safely. Scaling changes ingredient amounts, not necessarily the required equipment, cooking method or time.

Timers are reminders that you start yourself. Their delivery depends on device settings, permissions and the operating system; do not rely on them as a safety alarm. Generated covers are labelled illustrations and may contain inaccuracies. Step illustrations and voice narration are not currently provided.

Your content, rights and invitations

Salsa is a tool for organising and cooking from recipes you choose. You decide which material to import and whether to share it. Salsa does not claim ownership of third-party recipes you add.

You are responsible for ensuring that your use of Salsa complies with applicable copyright laws and any applicable source licence or website terms. When you import or upload material, you confirm that you own it, have the necessary permission, or have another lawful basis for the copying, processing and storage needed to provide the features you request.

Before sharing a recipe copy, you must also have the necessary rights or other lawful basis to share that content with the recipient. Permission to access material or use it privately does not necessarily include permission to redistribute it. Buying a cookbook, accessing a website, adding attribution or having AI reformat a recipe does not by itself grant additional rights in protected text or images. Do not use Salsa to bypass access restrictions or distribute material unlawfully.

You retain any rights you hold in your content. To the extent you are entitled to do so, you give Salsa and its service providers limited, non-exclusive permission to copy, process, format and store your selected material to provide the features you request, and to make it available to recipients when you choose to share it. This permission is limited to providing those features as described in the Privacy Policy; it does not give you or Salsa rights that belong to someone else.

Creating an invitation makes a shareable recipe copy and preview available through its link. Links expire after 90 days and can be disabled sooner from the sharing screen. A recipient must complete Salsa's onboarding and subscription/account flow where required to save a copy. Private notes, ratings and privately uploaded photos are excluded. Copies already saved by recipients remain theirs to manage.

Do not upload unlawful content, impersonate others, compromise accounts or security controls, automate abuse, or use Salsa to facilitate harm. Contact support to report inappropriate AI output, an abusive invitation, or a rights concern, including the relevant link and a short explanation. We may restrict misuse or remove access to affected shared content while investigating.

To report a copyright concern, contact ashton.mchardy@gmail.com with the work you believe is affected, the relevant Salsa invitation link or other details that help us locate it, your contact details and the basis of your claim. These user responsibilities do not exclude Salsa's own obligations under applicable law or your mandatory consumer rights.

Privacy and account controls

Before AI processing, Salsa explains which selected recipe information and questions are sent to OpenAI. Your permission is remembered for your account, so it is not requested again for each import or question. You can manage that permission, diagnostics and backup in Settings. System permissions remain controlled by iOS. Read the Privacy Policy for details.

Keep your sign-in credentials secure. You can export recipes and request account deletion in Settings → Account & more. Account deletion removes the account's active stored data; provider deletion schedules and copies already shared with other people are explained in the Privacy Policy.

Consumer rights and changes

Nothing here excludes rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded in your country. Contact us if Salsa is not working as described. We will communicate material service or terms changes and update this page; Apple controls subscription price-change notices and consent where required.
